News Flash!

For at least the past year or so, Poptropicans received 50 Poptropica credits for every island completed, which means that you’d have to complete two islands just to buy a costume in the Store, and five islands to buy a gold card. Well now, that value has been tripled to 150 credits, even more than the 100 credits they used to give when I started playing Poptropica.

Percy Jackson’s Back!

There’s a brand new ad for the Percy Jackson and the Olympians book series over on Poptropica! You can tour Camp Half-Blood and the Underworld, take a quiz to test your book knowledge, and get two free prizes: the Cyclops Power (which turns everyone around you into wild-haired Cyclopes) and the Pen Sword (which is actually a pencil, for some reason).

Percy’s seen better days…

You can even costumize Grover!

This isn’t the first time Percy Jackson and Co. have been featured on Poptropica; back in 2010, there was an ad for the upcoming Lightning Thief movie.

Use the Force…

If you’ve already used Poptropica Realms (and if you haven’t, what are you waiting for? It’s like Minecraft on Poptropica!), you’ll know that Poptanium is a mineral that you mine and use to “buy” materials for houses and other structures. For a limited time only, players can use a powerful new tool to mine for Poptanium with more speed and efficiency than ever: the Star Wars lightsaber!

You can either throw or swing the lightsaber to blaze a destructive path through any type of material – even water! This is pretty cool because it allows you to create ponds or lakes that hover in midair:

The lightsaber feature won’t be around for long, so use it before it’s gone!

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Old School Coming Soon!

On November 3, 2015, the tenth book in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, Old School, will be released! Here’s the plot description:

Life was better in the old days. Or was it?

That’s the question Greg Heffley is asking as his town voluntarily unplugs and goes electronics-free. But modern life has its conveniences, and Greg isn’t cut out for an old-fashioned world.

With tension building inside and outside the Heffley home, will Greg find a way to survive? Or is going “old school” just too hard for a kid like Greg?

Sounds interesting, doesn’t it? I can’t believe that the series is already on its tenth book; I still remember getting the first book for my birthday when it first came out! Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Old School is already available for pre-order on Amazon.
